Mackenzie is the Global Startup Evangelist at AWS. His days are spent traveling the globe to meet startups, share their stories, and connect engineering teams together. Every day there are a large number of startups launching on AWS across every imaginable industry. It’s Mackenzie’s mission to find stories of startups that are helping to improve the world and share these stories with a wide audience.

Prior to joining AWS, Mackenzie was the Head of Technical Operations at Betterment, the world’s largest independent robo-advisor based in NYC which manages over $8B in assets. Mackenzie was a founding engineer and Head of Technical Operations at Oscar Health, an insurance startup also based in NYC, helping to grow the company to over 400+ employees.

Chris Dickerson has been working and leveraging GIS technology for over a decade. He studied and earned his bachelor’s degree in Management of Information Systems with a focus on Project Management and a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Certificate in GIS both from UW-Milwaukee. Working at Waukesha County some of his duties include managing their GIS infrastructure, Enterprise SQL database, and Python scripting automation.
Matt focuses on GIS solutions that support the business requirements of state government users and specializes in WebGIS implementations with an emphasis on collaboration. Prior to his role with Esri, Matt worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation and administered their on-premises and online GIS services for 6 years. Matt earned a B.S. from Central Michigan University in 2010 and a Master's Degree in Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati in 2013. Matt is also an AWS certified Cloud Practitioner.
Amy joined AWS in July 2021, with the responsibility of supporting the State of WI on their cloud journey. Amy’s core responsibilities include: ensuring state & local government customers have the support, resources and programs available to them so they can successfully migrate to the cloud. Prior to AWS, Amy spent 2 years developing education programs for Microsoft Surface, and 17 years selling technology products to education resellers. Â
Jesse Thompson is a Senior Solutions Architect at AWS where he partners with state and local government customers to implement cloud solutions and solve technical problems. Before joining AWS, he spent 19 years in enterprise IT at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a focus on DevOps, containers, serverless, and security. Outside of work Jesse spends his free time curling or canoeing, depending on the season.
